Honda Lock Philosophy
Toward the Creation of a New Corporate Culture
Since its establishment in 1962, Honda Lock has grown and developed on a global scale. In order to make even greater strides, however, we must continue to evolve. Based on this idea, in April 2004, we established our “Philosophy” as an upper concept of our Company Principle and Management Policies which represent the ideal state of the company.
Our Philosophy is a concise expression of the beliefs of the founder of Honda Lock, as well as the basic ideas (corporate philosophy) and values that we place importance to continue our future corporate activities. We believe that full understanding and continuous practice of the Philosophy by each one of us will make a company that is expected to exist.
Our Philosophy, Company Principle, and Management Policies are the “Corporate Philosophy (Honda Lock Philosophy)”.
We Honda Lock associates will fully understand and share this Honda Lock Philosophy with pride and responsibility.
Now we would like to introduce background concepts and contents to deepen your understanding of our Philosophy.
Respect for the Individual
Respect each other as independent individuals, trust each other as equals, do your best, and share the joy together.
Initiative
Initiative means not to be bound by preconceived ideas, but to think creatively and act on your own initiative and judgment, while understanding that you must take responsibility for the results of those actions.
Equality
Equality means to recognize and respect individual differences in one another and treat each other fairly. Our company is committed to this principle and to creating equal opportunities for each individual. An individual’s race, gender, age, religion, national origin, educational background, social or economic status has no bearing on the individual’s opportunities.
Trust
The relationship among associates at Honda Lock should be based on mutual trust. Trust is created by recognizing each other as individuals, helping out where others are deficient, accepting help where we are deficient, sharing our knowledge, and making a sincere effort to fulfill our responsibilities.
Creating Joy
“Creating Joy” is based on the concept of “Respect for the Individual” and represents our belief in seeking and creating new joy together with all people involved in Honda Lock’s corporate activities.
In order for us to grow and develop our business activities, it is necessary that our various activities are understood and accepted in each community. And in order to do so, we must be trusted and appreciated by the community. In addition to providing employment opportunities and paying taxes, we need to contribute to the development of the community as a company, group, or individual, and to continue to make efforts to bring mutual joy.
The expectations of society and our customers are changing. In order to respond to these changing demands in good faith and create mutual joy, “creation and challenge” are essential in our personal efforts. Once we have achieved one joy, we will expand and develop it into the next new joy.
